The University Women's Club of The Ohio State University

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When do you meet
A: The UWC meets the first Monday of each month, October through May, except January, at the Faculty Club at 11:30 A.M..  Interest Groups meet throughout the month.

Q: Who can join?
A: Any woman interested in the Club and the University.

Q: What if I only want to join an Interest Group?
A: To belong to ANY interest group, first you must be a member of the UWC, and that means paying your dues to the big Club.

Q: Can any member work at Buckeye Bargains?
A: Yes.  You can choose to work on Tuesdays for set-up, or Wednesdays when the shop is open for business.

Q: How much are the dues for the UWC?
A: $20 per year

Q: When are the dues due?
A: No later than May 31.  For new members, whenever you join.

Q: What if I don't pay my dues?
A: Simple.  You forfeit your membership.  Pay in May was instituted over 10 years ago, but not really enforced.  It is now in full effect.  No dues - no meetings, no Interest Groups.  May 31 is the deadline.  Don't let it pass!
Q: How does that work for women who wish to join?
A: New Members are welcome at any time.  Once you have paid your dues, you have full privileges for any activity in the Club.  Once you have paid your dues, the same rules of membership apply.

Q: What about dues with the Interest Groups?
A: Each interest group determines its own dues, dependent on their programs and expenses.  Some have dues, some are free.
