Membership
Our members are the most important aspect of the Club. This was the impetus behind the formation of our Club, and still is our main focus after 115 years. (See History). We welcome anyone who would like to be one of the 300 plus, and who "believes in activities, well being and continuance of The Ohio State University and the Club." This comes from our Bylaws. Membership grants you access to not only the UWC Luncheon meetings with great speakers; it also is the portal to membership in any and all Interest Groups. Membership in the UWC is $20 per year. We have a rich tradition of participation by our Past Presidents and our 50 year members who are still stepping up; the women who faithfully attend our Luncheon Meetings; the women who participate in the 20 Interest Groups, and especially those who always come through when needed - to chair and continue to come up with great programs, year after year. Another group of members having been singled out as having gone above and beyond in the name of the Club, have received the Meritorious Service Award.
In another direction, Member Needs centers on the needs of members: rides, help in case of illness; consolation in times of bereavement, etc. Tracking changes of information, e.g. address, phone, etc., is the job of our Database Secretary. If you have any changes at all to report, please contact her. Our President Elect watches for reports of member deaths, and as it is almost impossible for anyone to know everyone in the Club, if you happen to see an obituary in the paper or know of someone's passing, please let her know. We will add her/his name In Memoriam.
Also, membership is extended women whose names have been brought before the Executive Committee and voted as Courtesy Member. and to the wives of the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor of OSU, and the Governor of the State of Ohio. See Courtesy Members.
