Music 2011-2012
Music has been a part of the UWC since its inception in 1895, but became officially organized as an Interest Group
in 1914. This makes it the oldest and longest running Interest Group in the Club. The shared talent of this group has been enjoyed for nearly a century, and the generosity of its members has spawned a scholarship in memory of Nina Weigel, the wife of the director of the School of Music, Eugene Weigel, who was active in the 1950's. This endowed scholarship provides 2 women undergraduate Music majors each year the funds with which to continue their studies.
Why not join chairman Joyce Geary and program chairman Carol Notestine on the 3rd Monday of each month, October through May, at 1:00 P.M. on these musical journeys.
